01 / A PLACE TO LEARN FROM

Longevity is
a whole-person question.

Okinawa became internationally known for exceptional longevity among its older generations. The blue-zone perspective invites attention to the patterns around a life: food, movement, belonging and purpose.

The picture continues to change. Younger generations do not automatically share the same health patterns. For Yotsuba, Okinawa is a place to learn from and a source of identified ingredients — a living context for everyday care.

02 / FIND THE STORY ON THE MAP

THE YAEYAMA ISLANDS

石垣島・八重山

An island origin for cultivated microalgae.

Ishigaki is home to Yaeyama Chlorella production. The island's sunlight, climate and water support managed, land-based cultivation. Kabira Bay is part of the landscape; cultivation takes place in dedicated production facilities.

04 / OUR INGREDIENT CONNECTIONS

From land and water.
With a clear identity.

The island connection becomes meaningful when we can name the ingredient, its origin and its place within a complete formula.

THE LAND

The colour of a varied table.

Island vegetables, herbs and citrus connect everyday nourishment with the character of Okinawa. They bring variety, flavour and a distinct regional identity to the food story.

Okinawa Tropical Aojiru brings together a declared sixteen-vegetable blend, five-fruit blend, Peucedanum japonicum, Okinawan moringa and other measured components.

06 / A STORY THAT CONTINUES TO BE STUDIED

The questions
keep evolving.

Okinawa's longevity heritage is an active research and community conversation. Different organisations contribute different kinds of knowledge.

1975 → TODAY

Okinawa Centenarian Study

A long-running programme studying diet, activity, genetics and psychosocial factors among older Okinawans. ORCLS continues research that began at the University of the Ryukyus.

RESEARCH / 2026

Ageing, cognition & the microbiome

Researchers from the University of the Ryukyus, OIST and collaborators continue to examine healthy ageing. A 2026 study in older Ginowan residents explored associations between gut microbiota and cognitive function; it did not establish causation or test Yotsuba products.

COMMUNITY / YOMITAN

A local conversation about living well

The Yomitan Blue Zone Research Council brings local culture, sustainable tourism and healthy life expectancy into community discussion. It is one example of how the island story is being explored today.

Research bodies are named for context. Blue-zone geography is not a product certification, and these studies do not demonstrate that a particular supplement extends life.
