Fermentation and the ginsenoside profile
Laboratory work compared red ginseng and fermented red ginseng and reported changes in ginsenoside metabolites after fermentation. It does not identify or test this finished product.
A 12-week fermented-ginseng study
A double-blind trial evaluated a specified fermented ginseng powder preparation. The preparation, dose and study objective are not equivalent to the complete Yotsuba formula.
Red ginseng and fatigue research
A double-blind clinical trial examined Korean red ginseng in adults with chronic fatigue. It concerns another ginseng preparation and cannot establish an outcome for this product.
Immune-cell measures in healthy adults
An eight-week placebo-controlled trial evaluated 2 g/day of Korean red ginseng in 100 healthy adults and measured immune-cell variables. It used a non-fermented red-ginseng preparation at a non-equivalent dose.
Cognitive and motor-function measures
A two-week study in 15 healthy young men examined 4,500 mg/day and reported changes in event-related-potential measures, while computerised test scores did not differ significantly. The sample was small and the preparation and dose differ materially.
A separate black-garlic preparation
A crossover trial examined a standardised aged black garlic extract in adults with moderately elevated cholesterol. Its extract, dose and study objective are not equivalent to the 40 mg fermented-black-garlic layer in this formula.
